The Barn at Emerson Motor Works is a BMW motorcycle shop located in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont. We are a riders shop, started and run by passionate motorcyclists, specializing in sales, repair and restoration of air cooled BMW motorcycles.

Local Destinations

At Emerson Motor Works we are firm believers in riding to eat. We think great food tastes even better when you ride your motorcycle along a beautiful road to get there. Below are some our favorite ride to eat destinations.


  • Sandy's Books and Bakery, Rochester VT. In the village of Rochester, just north of our motorcycle shop, serving organic, whole foods, prepared fresh and served by a conscientious staff. This is also the closest place to our shop that you can get an espresso.
  • Warren Store, Warren VT. Just off Vermont's classic road, Rt 100, in the village of Warren. Home to great sandwiches, baked goods, and baked beans.
  • Eat Good Food, Vergennes VT. On the West end of Main St in Vergennes, run by riders and serving an excellant assortment of freshly made lunchtime fair. Stop here on your way to Lake Champlain.
  • Curtis BBQ, Putney, VT
  • If it's summertime and you're anywhere near us, a group of cars parked on the side of the road is generally an indication of a great swimming hole. Find a shady parking spot and enjoy the crisp, clean rivers.
